Steve Szigeti is a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Information, University of Toronto, as well as a graduate fellow in the Knowledge Media Design collaborative program (U of T). He is currently conducting research in the area of web interface design and the use of evidence based design guidelines.
From 1997 until 2008, Steve was the Director of TELETOON Interactive for TELETOON Canada, Inc. In this role, he was responsible for strategic planning and development of the network's interactive consumer and corporate initiatives.
Under Steve’s leadership, teletoon.com became one of the most successful Canadian websites for kids (averaging over 1.8 million user sessions per month) and has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the EPpy Award for Best Use of Rich Media in an Internet Service (2005), the Boomerang Award (2004), and a Standard of Excellence Web Award in the "Outstanding Achievement in Website Development" category (2005).
Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters Degree in Information Studies from the University of Toronto, as well as a Masters in English from Concordia University. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery.
