Sheila Barry has worked at Kids Can Press for eight years, seven of them as editor-in-chief. In this role, she participates in planning the publishing program, acquiring new titles for the list, and editing select titles. Most recently, she has been involved in establishing Citizen Kid, a collection of books that introduce global issues to children. Under the Citizen Kid banner, Kids Can has published books on microloans, food security and human geography. Sheila is a frequent speaker at writers’ conferences and has taught publishing courses at both Ryerson and York universities.
