Laura Brown is a psychologist and educator who has held leadership positions in educational media for over ten years.  Most recently, Dr. Brown served as Director of Research and Curriculum on “3^rd and Bird!”            

(CBeebies) and on the Emmy award winning “The Wonder Pets!” (Nick Jr.). She is also Curriculum Consultant on “Ni Hao, Kai-Lan” (Nick Jr.) and “Olivia” (Nick Jr.). Other recent projects include “Tobi!” (Treehouse TV/Canada and Nickelodeon Australia), “Gaspard and Lisa” (in production at Chorion), and “WordWorld Jr.” (US Department of Education funded literacy project in development). 

Dr. Brown has been Director of Research and Curriculum at Little Airplane Productions since 2001, where she developed Little Airplane’s signature “Show and Tell Research” method.  This method consists of showing children images from the episode and having them tell researchers, through both their behavior as well as explicit responses, how they feel about and how well they understand a particular episode.  A licensed Psychologist, Dr. Brown had a practice specializing in learning disorders before her full-time involvement in educational media. Dr. Brown is herself a mother of three children who keep her completely engrossed and provide the perfect test group when she is not at work.
