As Director, Interactive for Astral Television Networks, Barbara Bailie is responsible for the strategic direction and production of interactive properties for eight television networks - Family, Disney Playhouse Canada, The Movie Network, HBO Canada, Mpix, Viewers Choice, Super Écran, and Cinépop.  These networks serve a variety of audiences ranging from children to adults in both the English and French markets in Canada.

Ms. Bailie was responsible for launching Astral Media’s first website, family.ca, in May 1997. Under her guidance, family.ca has now grown to become one of the top Canadian kids’ web sites. According to Comscore, family.ca frequently ranks as one of the most popular kids’ entertainment sites against its key competitors. Targeted to kids 8 to 14, the site features games and activities, short and full-length broadband video contests, program mini-sites, moderated message boards, and user-generated content submitted by kids. 

All of the websites under her direction have won numerous awards which include a 2007 Gemini Award for the Life with Derek mini-site on family.ca and 19 Gold, Silver and Bronze BDA/Promax Awards in a variety of categories such as best consumer site, best game, best micro-site, and best viral marketing campaign. Most recently family.ca’s new video player won a 2009 BDA Award and FamClub, family.ca’s community portal for kids won a 2009 Promax Award.
