Interactive Ontario is pleased to announce the first-ever INplay conference was a resounding success. The inaugural two-day conference held at the Liberty Grand in Toronto, welcomed 334 participants and featured 3 keynote presentations, 106 speakers, 27 panel sessions and presentations.
A contest was also held to help IO name its INplay Mascot. The winner of the contest, out of more than 100 entries, was Tim Tyler, President, Cheshire Animation from Saskatoon who suggested the winning name: Digit.
Here are just a few of the things attendees had to say:
"Let me congratulate you for putting on a magnificent conference, which excelled in every way possible. The speakers were stimulating; the networking opportunities were well organized and extremely beneficial. The hospitality was warm, the food delicious, and your staff friendly and helpful. Your conference is without a doubt one of the very top ones of the hundreds of conferences I have attended over the years." - Dr. Robert K. Logan, Chief Scientist, Strategic Innovation Lab at OCAD and Prof. Emeritus of Physics at U of T
"Hats off to everyone at Interactive Ontario. You all made an important "first" event a successful, and positive, experience. And for that you deserve a HUGE THANK YOU!!!" - Steve Szigeti, PhD Candidate, Faculty of Information and Graduate Fellow, Knowledge Media Design Institute at U of T
"I thought it was a great conference and didn't feel like the first year at all! And if that's the first year then it will be outstanding next year! I thought it really did bring interactive people together with TV people and touched upon issues that affect both groups. There were book people there and toy people and everybody!" - Mary Bredin, VP Development & Acquisitions, Guru Studio.
