Interactive Ontario is pleased to announce the first-ever INplay conference was a resounding success. The inaugural two-day conference held at the Liberty Grand in Toronto, welcomed 334 participants and featured 3 keynote presentations, 106 speakers, 27 panel sessions and presentations.

A contest was also held to help IO name its INplay Mascot. The winner of the contest, out of more than 100 entries, was Tim Tyler, President, Cheshire Animation from Saskatoon who suggested the winning name: Digit.

Session: Interactive Activism
How are charities and kids using online for social good? This panel will discuss initiatives that engage kids in online philanthropy and empower them to take action on their own. Covering key success factors, pitfalls to avoid, as well as significant trends with the goal of informing efforts to engage kids in social good across platforms and types of creation.

Session: Preschool Play and Games
Stream: Research

Children's technology developer Carla Engelbrecht Fisher takes us into the minds of pre-schoolers and shows us how to incorporate developmental psychology research into the games we build. This session will provide an overview on how preschoolers develop, why research is important when designing for this age group, and will give provide examples of how to design games for this age group.

IO will be promoting Ontario interactive properties and the INplay Conference, which is taking place in Toronto, May 18-19, 2010.
